The Heart of Stearns

“It truly warms my heart that we are reaching out to those who are less fortunate,” Melanie Martin says about Lending Hands – HomeAid for the Holidays.

Currently serving as Sr. Suspense Support Auditor for Stearns Lending, Melanie is proud to be a part of this service project and believes that this is a tangible reflection of our We Can Help You® culture. In addition to taking care of our clients and employees, it’s also an honor – and responsibility – to support our communities in ways big and small.

While it’s wonderful to bless others with major gifts or splashy sponsorships, we realize that the little things sometimes have a greater impact. That’s part of the reason we chose to partner with HomeAid America® to provide personal care kits to those who may not have the basic necessities many of us take for granted.

As part of the Lending Hands program our employees, clients and business partners have been collecting shampoo, socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, healthy snacks and other care kit items. The Stearns team embraced this service project from the very beginning and has donated 2,300 kits – one for each of our 2,300 employees. Benefits Supervisor, Genevieve Martens, echoes what others are saying: “I’m glad the company is doing something like this!”

And while this collaboration meets the needs of people throughout the communities we serve, it also brings us together as an organization. In spite of our rapid growth over the last few years, the Stearns family has remained focused on building relationships with each other and making sure we maintain our culture of helping each other and those we serve.
